Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

The Short Version

We collect what we need to run the service. We don't sell your data. We don't read your recordings. We use cookies for authentication and basic analytics.

What We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up, we collect your email address and name. We use this to create your account and send you important updates about the service.

Payment Information

We use Stripe to process payments. We don't store your credit card details—Stripe handles that. We only keep what's needed for invoicing.

Your Recordings

Your recordings are stored encrypted in the cloud. We don't access them unless you specifically ask us to help debug an issue. They're yours.

Usage Data

We track basic usage to improve the product: which features you use, how often you record, that kind of thing. No keyloggers, no screen recording, nothing creepy.

Cookies

We use cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in) and basic analytics. No third-party tracking cookies from ad networks.

How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the service (obviously)
  • To process payments
  • To send you important updates
  • To improve the product
  • To respond to support requests

What We Don't Do

  • Sell your data to advertisers
  • Read or listen to your recordings
  • Share your data with third parties (except for payment processing)
  • Use your content to train AI models
  • Send marketing emails without consent

Data Retention

We keep your data as long as you have an account. If you close your account, we delete everything within 30 days. Recordings on the free tier are deleted after 3 days automatically.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you're in the EU, you have rights under GDPR. You can:

  • Request a copy of your data
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data
  • Object to how we process your data
  • Request data portability

Email privacy@elva.fm and we'll sort it out.

Security

We encrypt data in transit and at rest. We use secure infrastructure. We don't store passwords in plain text (obviously). We do what reasonable software companies do.

Third Parties

We use a few services to run Elva:

  • Stripe for payments
  • Vercel for hosting
  • AWS for storage

These services have their own privacy policies. They're reputable companies.

Changes

We might update this policy. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and let you know if the changes are significant.
